Tulip Festival Gets Underway Sunday

Huntington’s annual Tulip Festival gets underway at 11 a.m. Sunday, come rain or shine.

The festival at Heckscher Park is a free event, starring more than 20,000 tulips, fun for children, performances on the Chapin Rainbow Stage, art exhibits, demonstrations and refreshments.

Among the performers is Gizmo Guys, a juggling act with Allan Jacobs and Barrett Felker; Griots in Concert, a performance featuring stories, music, and song from Africa, the Caribbean, and America with vocalist and storyteller Linda Humes, and Funkytown Playground, a music and movement program with Aly Sunshine & band featuring interactive songs.

The festival runs until 4 p.m.,  Outdoor activities at the festival could be suspended by lightning.
