Tulip Festival Offers Food, Fun and Flowers

Sunday’s glum weather didn’t stop residents from coming out to enjoy the annual Tulip Festival at Heckscher Park in Huntington.

Jugglers, storytellers and others entertained from the Harry Chapin stage while vendors offered fun activities set amidst the blooming tulips. Musically inclined kids took turns trying out their skills at the KidzHitz van and the School of Rock space, while others sat for facepainting, painted a mural, mixed goo or kicked soccer balls into small nets.

Tulips weren’t the only flowers at hand; some tables offered marigolds, while other vendors offered food to hungry festival-goers.

On Friday night, Mark Cuthbertson and other members of the Town Board congratulated student winners of the art contest that accompanies the festival.
