Update: A pedestrian walking on Broadway was seriously injured Wednesday night when he was struck by a vehicle, Suffolk County police said.
Syed Shah was driving a 2012 Toyota Suburban east in front of 284 Broadway, when the vehicle struck Earnest Salley, 73, of Melville, who was walking in the roadway, at 10:11 p.m., police said.
The victim was transported via ambulance to Huntington Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Shah, 48, of Brooklyn, was not injured.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
