Suffolk County Legis. Susan A. Berland presented a proclamation Tuesday to Gennaro Cianciotta, an Army Air Corps veteran, to celebrate his upcoming 100th birthday.
Cianciotta, was born in Brooklyn on Jan. 13, 1919 and served as a sergeant in Africa and Italy during World War II. He moved to Long Island in 1959.
“I was proud to present Gennaro Cianciotta with a proclamation in recognition of this incredible milestone,” said Legislator Susan A. Berland. “As the Chairwoman for the Legislature’s Veterans Committee, I have the privilege of being able to recognize many of our veterans for their service. Today, I was proud to honor Gennaro’s service to our country and also his 100th Birthday. I wish Gennaro a happy and healthy 100th Birthday and I was glad to be a part of the celebrations.”
