Village of Huntington Bay Shuffles Trustee Duties

Two trustees were appointed this week to positions in the Village of Huntington Bay, replacing deputy mayor Dom Spada, who continues to serve as a  trustee. Spada also serves as acting director of maritime services in the Town of Huntington.

Trustee Jay Meyer was named deputy mayor and trustee Don Rave was appointed police commissioner, the two jobs previously held by Spada.

Mayor Herb Morrow said, “Dom and I met last week and discussed this and we agreed that with the number of responsibilities he has with the Halesite Fire Department and his expanded role in the Town of Huntington Maritime Services Department that it would the right time to give other trustees these responsibilities.”  Morrow thanked Spada for his work, especially on the police contracts which the mayor described as “transformative.”

Spada and  Mark Dara were sworn in  as trustees for their new two-year terms.

Also appointed were: Trustee Mark Dara – road commissioner; Anthony Guardino of Farrell Fritz, village attorney; Jeff Vollmuth, village engineer; Bob Kocis, village building inspector and code enforcement officer; Danielle Cantanese, village court clerk and deputy village Clerk; Mara Amendola, village prosecuting attorney, and  Al Hulse, village auditor.
