Volunteer Boxers to Square Off for Charity

Local business people will take each other on in the boxing ring Monday to raise funds for charity.

The 16th annual Fight for Charity is set for 6 p.m. at the Hilton Long Island in Melville.

Volunteer boxers represent a wide range of businesses, including Long Island Business News, FBA Insurance, Empower Solar and the South Huntington school district.

More than 300 volunteer boxers have participated in Fight for Charity since 2002, with more than $1 million raised for local charities, including Long Island Community Chest, Genesis School, National Foundation for Human Potential (FREE) and more.

The volunteers have been training for months and raising money along the way but it’s still possible to contribute or buy tickets.
