Voting Open to Choose Candidates for Huntington, Suffolk Offices

Huntington voters go to the polls starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday, continuing until 9 p.m.

Most schools and government buildings are closed for the day.

On the ballots will be three candidates for Huntington town supervisor: Councilman Gene Cook, Rebecca Sanin and Councilman Ed Smyth; four seeking two seats on Town Board, Dr. David Bennardo, Sal Ferro, Jen Hebert and Joe Schramm; two choices for highway superintendent: Kevin Orelli and Andre Sorrentino; two for Suffolk County district attorney, incumbent Tim Sini and challenger Ray Tierney; and one choice for Suffolk legislator: Manny Esteban or Susan Berland (16th) Stephen Becker or Tom Donnelly (17th); Mark Cuthbertson or Stephanie Bontempi (18th).

These are the propositions on the ballot.

Election results will start coming in after 9 pm. Note that not all results will be available Tuesday night because absentee ballots can arrive for the next week.

Where to Vote

If voting early last year left you confused about your regular polling place, you can look it up here.

Anyone who is not vaccinated against Covid-19 is “required to wear a mask/face covering and maintain six feet of distance when entering any Board of Elections facility or voting poll site if you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19,” the Suffolk Board of Elections said.
