Warning in Effect for Tropical Storm Fay

The National Weather Service issued a tropical storm warning Thursday night for Long Island.
Tropical Storm Fay could make landfall Friday night near Long Island, bringing heavy rain and gusty winds to the area.
The NWS forecast said:
A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 8am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. High near 77. East wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Friday Night
Tropical storm conditions possible. Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 74. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Saturday
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 10am, then showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Heat index values as high as 95. South wind 8 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
