Water districts are offering delayed payments without penalties for those who are struggling to pay their bills because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Customers have to apply for the deferral.
The South Huntington Water District and the Greenlawn Water District both posted information on their websites saying that customers could defer payments for up to four water bills for six months from the due date of the last bill. The deferral was approved by an amendment to the Public Service Law.
