White Coats for Students at 2 Colleges

Several local students have been awarded their white coats in recognition of their entrance into the next phase of their medical training.

Erin Levitsky from Commack was one of 126 students who received their nursing white coat in a ceremony held by the Bloomsburg Department of Nursing on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Haas Center for the Arts on campus. Bloomsburg is part of Commonwealth University in Pennsylvania.

The eighth annual White Coat Ceremony celebrates sophomore nursing students who are entering the next phase of their education.

NYIT 

New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine welcomed its newest medical students during ceremonies where members of the Class of 2026 received their first white coats. Local medical students coated include:

The white coat ceremony is a medical school rite of passage that marks the official start of a student’s medical education.
