Whitman Seniors Get a Moment in a Virus-Shortened Year

Walt Whitman High School students took to their cars Friday to celebrate their senior year while parents and teachers cheered them on. With the Covid-19 epidemic cutting into the school year and the usual  senior year celebrations, the drivers blew horns and waved as they drove past teachers holding up signs of support and shouting words of encouragement who lined the drive of the high school.

Many of the students’ cars were decked with the names and colors of the colleges the students expect to attend in the fall.
