A woman was killed Thursday morning in a crash in Melville, Suffolk County Police said.
Carmela Baselice, 66, was driving a 2006 Hummer east on Old Country Road when her vehicle left the road and struck a brick mailbox pillar in front of 96 Old Country Road at 10:10 a.m.
Baselice, 66, of Melville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
