Woman Accused of Killing NYPD Officer Due in Court

The woman accused of killing a New York police officer from East Northport in a crash in 2021 is due back in court next week where a trial date is expected to be set.

Jessica M. Beauvais is accused of driving drunk, running a roadblock in Queens and striking Officer Anastasios Tsakos, before fleeing the scene. She was stopped nearby and arrested. She faces multiple charges, including second-degree manslaughter, fleeing a police officer and driving while intoxicated. The crash occurred April 27.

Tsakos had been manning the roadblock because of a separate, unrelated accident nearby.

The case is being heard in Queens Supreme Court. She is scheduled to appear March 28.
