A Brentwood woman was arrested and charged Thursday in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Commack.
Arrested was Madeline Henriquez, 22, who was charged with Manslaughter 2nd Degree, Leaving the Scene of an Incident Involving a Fatality, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
She was traveling east on Motor Parkway on May 23 when she collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Moreland Road, left the roadway, and struck a woman standing on the sidewalk at approximately 10:15 p.m., police said. The vehicle then fled the scene east on Motor Parkway.
Killed was Cherokee Fletcher, 28, of Commack.
Henriquez will be arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Central Islip Thursday.
