Suffolk County Police arrested a woman Friday night on charges of driving while Intoxicated under Leandra’s Law after she was involved in a crash in Huntington with her 9-year-old twin children in the vehicle.
Cassidy Bartasi was driving a 2018 Acura when she sideswiped another vehicle at the intersection of Park Avenue and Main Street and then drove away, police said. Second Precinct officers found Bartasi in the Acura at the Intersection of Park Avenue and Woodhull Road and arrested her. There were no injuries.
The children were released to a family member.
Second Squad detectives charged Bartasi, 49, of Huntington with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, leaving the scene of an accident and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
