Will it be an art lecture or a guitar concert or poetry reading on Friday night? How about a drawing event or classical music performance on Sunday afternoon? All are among the happenings this week in the Huntington area.

 

What: Gallery Talk: Frida and Diego, Two Latin American Masters

Where: Heckscher Museum of Art

About: Professor Thomas Germano will speak about these two greats and about those whose work is in one of the Museum’s current shows, Rivera and Beyond.

About: Northport Arts Coalition looks forward to presenting Roldan, a guitarist with an international repertoire.

What: Poets In Port: Robert McKenna

Where: Caffe Portofino

When: Friday, Jan. 25, 7:30 pm

About: Northport Arts Coalition hosts PIP every last Friday of the month. Each time, there is a featured poet, such as McKenna, whose most recent volume is Stolen Poems Carried by Canoe to Blind Man’s Bluff, as well as an open mic, in which all may participate.

Where: Heckscher Museum of Art

About: Bring art supplies or use the museum’s, and create to your heart’s content. Meet Mexican-American artist Kelynn Z. Alder, and enjoy complimentary admission to the exhibits.
