Football players from four local high schools will be running food drives Oct. 15 to benefit food pantries.
Huntington Director of Minority Affairs Kevin Thorbourne is organizing the supermarket food drive.
The drive will include a friendly competition among the teams.
The following teams will be participating in this year’s food drive and will be collecting items at the listed locations:
- Huntington Blue Devils – Stop & Shop, 60 Wall Street, Huntington
- Elwood John Glenn Knights – Stop & Shop, 3126 Jericho Turnpike, East Northport
- Northport Tigers – Stop & Shop, 454 Fort Salonga Road (25A), Northport
- Harborfields Tornadoes – Greenlawn Farms, 777 Pulaski Road, Greenlawn
Through the Ferro Foundation, Councilman Sal Ferro is contributing $5,000 to support the drive.
