Board to Take Up $229-Million Budget

The Huntington Town Board will take up its its proposed 2024 budget of  $229 million Thursday night.

It is a 4.09% increase over the current budget, and includes $1.9 million in higher fees projected to be paid into the building and planning departments.

Fees paid to Huntington have been a frequent topic of discussion at recent meetings, with Huntington’s fees found to be lower than those charged by other towns.

The average Huntington homeowner will pay about $30 more each year in town taxes.

The board meets at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
