Huntington will have five representatives in the Suffolk County Legislature starting in January, up from four, thanks to redistricting.
The addition is the 15th, which extends now into Melville, with the seat held by Jason Richberg, the minority leader in the legislature.
Huntington Town Board Changes
With the impending departure of Town Council members Joan Cergol and Gene Cook as their terms expire at the end of the year, two new faces will join the five-member Town Board. Republicans will continue to control the board, however; the best the Democrats can expect would be a 3-2 Republican advantage. Both parties are running two candidates each.
May 22 Republican Fundraiser
Huntington Republicans are planning Let’s Get Social, a fundraising event at Harbor Head Brewing Company on May 22.
