Candidates Turn Out for Chamber Forum

Candidates for a variety of town and county offices gathered Tuesday to meet with members of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce.

They moved from table to table at the Harbor Club at Prime, discussing topics from parking to housing, traffic, water and other issues.

Among them were Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine, the Republican who is running to succeed Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, who is term-limited; and Suffolk legislative incumbents Stephanie Bontempi, Jason Richberg, Manuel Esteban, Tom Donnelly. Manuel Esteban and Rob Trotta, and several challengers, including Dr. Eve Meltzer Krief, Richard Felix and Rebecca Sanin.

Democrat Dave Calone, who is running for Bellone’s old job, did not appear, and neither did Catherine Corella, who is the candidate opposing Donnelly.

Huntington candidates on hand included Town Clerk Andrew Raia and his challenger, Linda Davis Valdez, Tax Receiver Jillian Guthman and challenger Dr. Pamela Velastegui, Town Board Republican candidates Theresa Mari and Brooke Lupinacci, and Democrats Don McKay and Jen Hebert.

Town Supervisor and State Sen. Mario Mattera were also on hand.
