Chamber’s Kelly Smith Honored as ‘Irish American of Distinction’

Kelly Smith, director of membership at the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, has been recognized as an “Irish American of Distinction” in the Suffolk County 16th Legislative District.

She was honored by Suffolk County Legislator Rebecca Sanin for her contributions to the community.

Sanin  said, “Kelly Smith embodies the spirit of service and community that defines the Irish American heritage. Her tireless efforts to support local businesses, nurture relationships, and enhance the quality of life for residents make her truly deserving of this recognition.”

Kelly has used her experience in non-profit, recreational, and media roles to serve chamber members. She has played a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and growth within the business community, earning accolades such as the Celebrate Long Island’s Young Professionals “30 under 30” award in 2017.

As secretary of the Huntington Station Business Improvement District, Kelly is helping usher in an unprecedented transformation and revitalization of the Huntington Station economic engine. She also has a role in the Huntington Township Housing Coalition and serves on the Town of Huntington’s Anti-Bias Task Force
