Musicians from the musical instrument company D’Addario & Co. performed Thursday night on the Chapin Rainbow stage at Heckscher Park to support Long Island Cares.
Volunteers for the food bank, which was founded by the late singer Harry Chapin, collected donations of food and money, from the audience. Raffles and Long Island Cares merchandise also benefited the food bank.
Chapin was a Huntington resident who led many philanthropic efforts, especially to overcome hunger. He died in 1981.
