DGSIR Manager Gets New Responsibilities

Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty (DGSIR), one of the nation’s leading realtors, is pleased to announce that Huntington Sales Manager Melissa Stark has assumed
additional sales management responsibility, taking charge of the organization’s Northport office. Just two years ago, Stark launched her sales management career when she was tapped to lead Daniel Gale Sotheby’s Huntington office. In that time she has been instrumental in that office’s successful relocation to a prominent Main Street location in one of Long Island’s busiest villages.

In her expanded position, Stark will manage a total of 62 real estate advisors. Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty Chief  Executive Officer Deirdre O’Connell made the announcement.

“From the moment Melissa stepped into sales management she was in her element, generating anticipation and excitement among our Huntington-based real estate advisors as well as the local community,” said O’Connell. “She has harnessed the energy and ambition of our younger and newer real estate advisors by playing a leadership role in our Young Professional Network (YPN), and is highly regarded throughout the entire organization for her work ethic, knowledge, and commitment to our clients, customers and real estate advisors.”

Thanks to Stark and fellow YPN board member Kathleen McCarthy, in the past year YPN has grown from an initial informal happy hour to hosting its First Annual Networking Party, a companywide Bowlathon, and its First Annual Outing (golf, tennis, pickleball), all benefiting the Daniel Gale Foundation, of which Stark is also a board member. To date, YPN has grown to 40 members and has raised more than $100,000.

Stark’s success is emblematic of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s commitment to growth opportunities and upward mobility for its younger people. The youngest sales manager in the organization, Stark first joined Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty as an executive assistant to President Patricia Petersen and later assisted Chief Executive Officer Deirdre O’Connell as well. This past fall, Stark was celebrated among the Long Island Business News 40 under 40 honorees for her outstanding career
accomplishments and community outreach efforts.

Eager to grow the Northport office, Stark has been introducing herself to neighboring business owners and looking for ways to get involved in the tight-knit village. “While there’s a somewhat different vibe, both Northport and Huntington have a vibrant main street, spectacular waterfront, and a strong sense of community,” observes Stark. “I’m excited to build on my Huntington experience and join with our Main Street, Northport neighbors as an active community partner and support our sales team to ever greater success.”
