Dix Hills Department Helping With Melville Paramedic Calls

The Dix Hills Fire Department is temporarily providing paramedic services for the Melville department, News12 is reporting.

“Melville Fire District officials say that an audit from the state Department of Health brought an undisclosed issue to their attention,” News12 said. It said it had reached out to the DOH but “was told the subject may be part of an open investigation so it could not comment.”

The Melville department told News12, “At no time before, during or since this issue arose has any Melville Fire District resident been put in harm’s way.”

No further details on the contracting or issue were immediately available.
