Early Voting Starts March 23 for Presidential Primaries

Early voting in the April 2 presidential primaries in New York starts March 23.

While the Suffolk Board of Elections lists several candidates for the Republican and Democratic primaries, the candidates has been winnowed  to President Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump. Republicans who dropped out of the race include Vivek Ramaswamy, Chris Christie and just this week, Nikkie Haley. Democratic candidates who halted their campaigns were Marianne Williamso and Dean Phillips.

Voters who are independents or unaffiliated cannot vote in the primaries, which are limited to those registered with the party holding the primary.

Primaries for other positions, including state Senate and state Assembly, are scheduled for June 25. The candidate filing deadline is April 4.
