The Elwood school board will meet Friday night for another public hearing on a proposed school safety plan.
The board has been considering adding security on campuses, as have other local school districts. South Huntington accepted a plan in January that will put armed security personnel on all campuses.
The district has posted a draft 28-page proposal to its website (see below) that addresses multiple safety issues, from Nature-related threats such such as tornadoes, wildfires and extreme temperatures, to criminal threats, such as bombs, active shooters, and cyberattacks.
The board will meet Friday at 7:30 p.m.. at Elwood Middle School for its safety plan review to consider adoption.
