The Gentlemen of Soul returned Saturday night for an energized and energizing performance on the stage at Heckscher Park.
The music of the three-man vocal group is rooted the sounds of Motown and others in the soul and R&B world, including Earth, Wind and Fire, Prince, The Jacksons,The Blue Notes, Doobie Brothers, and Luther Vandross. The band included electric guitar, drums, trumpet and conga drums.
One of the singers came off the stage to dance with a woman from the audience; it also wasn’t long after the performance began that members of the audience of all ages stepped into the pit to dance.
The performance is part of the summer series sponsored by the Huntington Parks Department.
