Pets, food, musicians, firefighters and residents were on hand Wednesday for the first of two Greenlawn Summer Nights block party.
Sponsored by the Greenlawn Civic Association and Huntington Town Council members Dr. David Bennardo and Sal Ferro, the party on Broadway encourages residents to patronize Greenlawn businesses and enjoy themselves. Pizza and hotdogs were among the food offerings.
Young children had a chance to learn how to use a hose to put out a fire, while members of the Greenlawn Fire Department demonstrated the use of a Jaws of Life tool to extract someone from a vehicle.Others learned martial arts techniques or listened to music as they strolled along Broadway. One tot showed off his skills videoing a guitarist before abandoning that task to dance to the music.
The next summer nights is Aug. 9.
