Residents and PSEG-LI reported power outages Thursday night in parts of Greenlawn.
The utlity said that more than 700 customers had lost power in Suffolk County, 688 of them in Greenlawn.
It was not known if the outages were related to the rainy weather. The National Weather Service said that rain would continue, mainly before 2am Friday. Low around 39. North wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Several streets around Huntington showed the effects of the latest rains, with water pooling at intersections and dips in roadways. In other areas, small branches and debris collected on streets as wind gusts blew through.
