Huntington Militia, Other Re-Enactors Seek More Members, Support

The Huntington Militia and other historical re-enactors are seeking support and more members, in anticipation of upcoming events around the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution

Three groups, – the Huntington Militia, the 3rd New York Regiment, Long Island Companies (3rd NY Regiment), and the 23rd Regiment of Foot, Royal Welsh Fusiliers in America, Grenadier & Light Infantry Companies (23rd Regiment of Foot) gathered in Huntington earlier this week to ask for help.

Patrick Mantle, commander of the Order of the Ancient and Honorable Huntington Militia, noted that the Militia is an educational, not-for-profit organization that researches and shares the history of Long Island’s role in the American Revolution through living history re-enactments.

The groups participate in such events as parades and encampments to demonstrate military techniques as well as explain life in the 18th Century.

Militia membership is open to men, women and children of all ages. To learn more visit https://www.huntingtonmilitia.com/
