Huntington NAACP Celebrates the Holidays

The Huntington branch of the NAACP celebrated the holidays Thursday with a lineup of events that featured Suffolk County Sheriff Dr. Errol Toulon Jr. and a program of tips on public safety.

Several  officials participated in the celebration, including Tax Receiver Jillian Guthman, Suffolk Legislator Stephanie Bontempi, Town Supervisor Ed Smyth, Highway Superintendent Andre Sorrentino, Sid Joyner from the South Huntington school board and deputy parks commissioner Walter Edwards.

The sheriff’s office presented information about ways to be safe when withdrawing money from ATMs, avoiding phone and online scams, and keeping personal information out of the wrong hands on social media.

The celebration was held at the South Huntington Public Library.
