Krave It Pizza-Sandwich Shop Opening Downtown

A new pizza shop is about to open in Huntington Village, one with a distinctive menu of pies and sandwiches.

Business partners John Romero and Vishee Mandahar hope to have a soft opening of Krave It at 376 New York Ave., Huntington, near the end of next week.

Mandahar owns two Krave It restaurants already, in Bayside and Astoria. Romero is co-owner of the new Huntington shop.

Romero is not new to the Huntington market, having previously operated the Grub Shop at the same location.

“It’s not a typical pizza shop,” Romero said. “We’ve got special pies and out of the ordinary sandwiches.”

The menu is indeed a little different. In addition to mac and cheese and cheesburger pizzas,  specials include the Super Sticky Honey Siracha Roni Cup Square, a Fried Oreo Pizza, Fuego Chicken and a Loaded Tater Tot Pizza.

Other offerings include Tikka Masala Wings, and such sandwiches as a chopped chimi featuring Dominican style chopped cheese, The Messi, with sliced steak, Argentinian chimichi and melted fresh mozzarella, and the Philly Bomber, with steak smothered in white American cheese whiz, cherry peppers and grilled onions, and several cold and veggie sub options.

The shop will be open Mondays-Wednesdays, 11 a.m.-midnight, and Thursdays-Sundays, 11 a.m.-2 a.m.
