Man Killed in Crash on LIE

A Middle Island man was killed in a crash in a crash on the Long Island Expressway in Melville Saturday night.

The  55-year-old man was driving west on the LIE between Exits 50 and 49N when his vehicle veered off the roadway into the woods near the north service road.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.  His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
