More Rain and Wind Expected Overnight

Strong winds are expected Sunday night until about noon Monday, the National Weather Service said, part of a coastl storm sweeping into the area.

Winds of about 25 to 40 MPH could gust up to 60 MPH.

The NWS said that damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, producing scattered power outages. ” Poorly secured outdoor objects will be damaged or blown away,’ the weather service said.

The heaviest rainfall and winds are expected between 3 AM and 11 AM Monday morning.

It also said that ‘Saturated soils may increase the downed tree impacts.”

The MTA said it would place bridge restrictions on vehicles overnight, and it warned that New York City subways could be flooded during and after the worst of the rain.
