Museum Dinner to Honor Mother-Daughter Leaders

Tracey Edwards, Long Island regional director of the NAACP, and her mother, Dolores Thompson, will be honored at a dinner May 12 to benefit the Heckscher Museum of Art.

Thompson is the founder of the Huntington Station Enrichment Center, a community facility for residents providing training in computer skills, entrepreneurship, English as a second language, job placement, youth and senior services.

Her daughter is a former member of the Huntington Town Board, the former chair of the Town of Huntington Planning Board and she retired as vice president of the Elwood School Board.

The dinner will also feature  museum CEO Heather Arnet. It will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
