Muggles and wizards are invited to help celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday on July 31 at three Huntington museums.
July 24-30
The Walt Whitman Birthplace will kick off the celebration, with a search for Quidditch brooms, the Mirror of Erised, a chance to earn Walt Whit’s Beans, and to try a sorting hat. Participants are also invited to bring in a Potter-themed poem for display. Children 15 & Under Free with adult admission.
July 25-Aug. 5
The Whaling Museum & Education Centeris promising the largest cauldron in Huntington. Participants can search for Potter-themed haunted items and potion bottles, or decorate an owl mask. Free with admission
Aug.1-Aug. 4
There will be a scavenger hunt at the Vanderbilt Museum, called “Mr. Vanderbilt’s Fantastic Creatures & How to Find Them!” Free with admission
