Rotary Club Raises Funds With Taste of the Town

The Rotary Club raised funds for local nonprofits Thursday night with its annual Taste of the Town featuring foods and drinks from Huntington restaurants and gifts from other businesses.

A variety of steak, tacos, chicken, sushi, pastries, rolls, salads, pasta and other dishes were available, along with wines, beers and other drinks.

Hosted at Appliance World in Huntington Village, the event drew scores of residents eager to try the foods, or take their chances with raffle baskets. Prizes ranged from trips to theater tickets, salon visits, pet gifts, nail care, paintings, vehicle detailing, wine baskets,  facials, and many more offerings.

Funds raised by the event will go toward supporting the Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society, Helping Hand Rescue Mission and other local charities.

  1. Thank you for a wonderful evening. I assumed as being gluten free celiac disease I would not be able to eat anything. Pleasantly surprised Besitos gave me a large scoop of guacamole. Then discovered Marty’s shrimp offering. And then the most wonderful encounter Illegal bakery. That is a lasting bond. Small suggestion I would have liked a food map of appliance world so I knew the favorite vendors. Also wish to mention pizza truck offered to make me a personal gluten free pizza. a lovely evening even if we did not win a raffle. Just a great night. My husband volunteers for the lighthouse, we are also quite involved with the oyster project and I volunteer at Helping Hand Rescue Mission. We shall be back next year
