Dozens of children picked out their favorite toys and other gifts Thursday with the help of Suffolk County police officers at the annual Shop With a Cop.
Several elected officials stopped by to help as kids roamed the aisles at Target in Huntington Station, including Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Town Council members Dr. David Bennardo and Sal Ferro, Councilwoman-elect Theresa Mari and Legislator-Elect Rebecca Sanin. Second Precinct commander Inspector Kevin Williams was also on hand, as were Rosario S. Cassata, president of the Cassata Foundation and his wife, Carolyn, who support the program every year and shopped with many of the kids.
Santa Claus, AKA Huntington Station resident Jim McGoldrick, assisted the young shoppers and posed for photos.
After shopping, kids were invited to a pizza party at Target.
