Sorrentino Turkey Giveway in Full Swing

Volunteers began handing out turkeys Monday morning in Huntington  as part of the annual Sorrentino Family Foundation turkey giveaway.

Andre Sorrentino, Huntington’s highway superintendent, said that about 3,000 turkeys with fixings were expected to be given out throughout the day. Residents with vouchers pulled into a lane in front of the PAS Auto Body on New York Avenue.

Elected officials stopped by to offer their help; Suffolk police, members of 100 Women of Huntington, and others lifted bags of food into cars while Deputy Parks Director Walter Edwards enthusiastically directed traffic into and out of the lane on the busy roadway.
