Special Board Meeting Wednesday Won’t Include Public Comment

The Town Board will meet in a special session Wednesday to consider what the town called the amended Melville Town Center Overlay District. But, the town said, while it is an open meeting, there are no public hearings or public comment.

The town said that the amendments are requested by civic associations.

Two resolutions for public hearings were approved at the March 12 meeting to consider proposals to develop parts of Melville and create mixed-used retail and housing space. The public hearings were approved for:

  • April 30, 2024 – West Hollow Middle School Auditorium – 7:00 pm
  • May 7, 2024 – Huntington Town Hall – Town Board Meeting – 2:00 pm
  • June 12, 2024 – Huntington Town Hall – Town Board Meeting – 7:00 pm

The town said the meeting was in accord with  Section 62 of Town Law. The meeting is scheduled at Town Hall at 5 p.m.
