The Town of Huntington will extend hours at spray parks and open cooling centers because of the high heat expected throughout most of the week.
Temperatures are expected to hit the low 90s on several days, with a heat index as high as 98.
Cooling centers: The Dix Hills Ice Rink will be open from 11 AM- 7 PM and the Town of Huntington Senior Center (Flanagan Center) will be open until 4PM. (Tues – Thurs)
Beaches: Important Notice! All Huntington Town Beaches and Beach Restrooms will be open for Town residents. No lifeguards will be on duty; swimming is at the individuals’ risk.
Spray Parks: Elwood and Manor Field Spray Parks will be open from 11 AM – 7PM. (Tues – Thurs).
The Dix Hills Pools will be closed because there are no lifeguards.
