Suozzi Swearing-In to Congress Set

Editor’s Note: Parts of Huntington will move back into the Third Congressional District effective Jan.1.  We will be covering some activities and events related to the district even though it doesn’t yet involve Huntington, so that voters have more information before the November election.

Tom Suozzi will be sworn into office Wednesday night to complete the congressional term of the ousted George Santos. The Third Congressional District includes parts of Nassau and Queens, though in January, wll expand to return to parts of Huntington.

Suozzi, who previously held the seat, was elected two weeks ago to complete the term. He and others will compete for the next term in the November election.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, Suozzi will deliver a speech from the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. Both the ceremony and speech can be viewed live via C-SPAN.  The swearing-in will happen after 6:30 p.m.
