Suffolk Police said Tuesday that a 14-month-old toddler died after her Greenlawn woman accidentally left her behind in a hot car.
Suffolk police are investigating the case. The woman, 54, was supposed to drop the child off at a daycare center before going to work, but forgot her. The child was left in the vehicle for eight hours, police said.
When the woman went to pick the child up from the day care center in Smithtown, she discovered the toddler in the vehicle. The girl was taken to Saint Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown where she was
pronounced dead.
