Town Board Approves Funds for Signs, Garden Improvements

The Huntington Town Board has approved the following expenditures:

Up to $50,000 for tactile signs at Heckscher Museum and the historic Centerport home of painters Arthur Dove and Helen Torr, to provide accessible maps for the visually impaired, at the request of the museum director.

Up to $30,000 to purchase and install benches and picnic tables for use by gardeners at the Robert Kubecka Memorial Organic Garden, at the request of the Department of Environmental Waste Management.

Approved the declaration of several pieces of equipment as surplus or obsolete, permitting the town to sell, auction off, trade-in or otherwise dispose of them.
