Students, staff and families wished members of Walt Whitman’s girls basketall team well as they left Friday morning for the state seminfinal game upstate.
Led by vehicles from the Huntington Manor Fire Department, the team walked the circle in front of the high school which was lined by students and staff who cheered them on before the players climbed onto the bus to head for Troy.
The Wildcats will play Our Lady of Lourdes in the Class AAA Semi-Final on Saturday. The final game is scheduled for Sunday.
The team is 21-3 this season.
