5 Sentenced in Thefts From Beauty Store

Five people have been sentenced for their participation in thefts from Ulta Beauty stores in Commack, East Farmingdale and Patchogue.

Sentenced were: Asia Leaphart, Shamiquwa Dixon, Devonte Jennings, Tyjanea Weaver and Naikeya Terry, who all pleaded guilty, the office of Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said Friday.

“These individuals operated together in groups and wreaked havoc on businesses across Suffolk County,” Tierney said.

All together, the stolen goods were worth about $10,000, Tierney said.

Jennings, 24, of Wyandanch, pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a Class D felony, and  was sentenced to one year in jail.

Terry, 41, of Wyandanch, pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a Class E felony. She was sentenced to one year in jail.

Leaphart, 26, of Deer Park, pleaded guilty to Attempted Assault in the Second Degree, a Class E felony, and Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a Class D felony.  Leaphart  was sentenced to one year in jail.

Dixon, 28, of Coram pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a Class D felony. She, was sentenced to 1.5 to 3 years in prison.

Weaver,  23, of Wyandanch, pleaded guilty to Petit Larceny, a Class A misdemeanor, and was placed on probation. Her case is still pending.

Another person, Cecil McHugh, 29, of Amityville, was indicted for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a Class D felony. His case is still pending.
