Bacon for Everyone at Mall Food Fest

An outdoor food festival with bacon as the top choice on the menu will continue Sunday at Walt Whitman Shops.

The I Love Bacon Butter, Beer and Bourbon Fest has everything for those whose first concern isn’t about eating their vegetables: on sale are fried ice cream, mac and cheese, pickles, fried bananas, hot sauces, beef, hot dogs,  Oreos, jerky, and bacon; one vendor’s sign was typical of the whole event: “We’ve got bacon on everything. Just ask.”

There are other choices for entertainment: An axe-throwing booth, bean bag toss, and live music by the country band Audawind. Other vendors offered such items as African baskets, jars of honey, distilled drinks, Caribbean foods, puddings, lemonades, empanadas, and CBD products;  Also on scene were an AARP booth and an Andersen windows sales team. ShopRite and Whole Foods were offering raffles.

On Sunday, the festival is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
