The Handler Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for awareness and research of breast cancers, will have its second annual fundraising event, “A Night Out with 1 North” on Aug. 17.
The event is scheduled for 5-9 pm. at Repeal XVIII, 30 New St., Huntington.
The primary purpose is to thank the Huntington Hospitals Cancer Center staff while also raising funds for the Lauren Handler research fund. The Handler Hope Foundation partners with Northwell Health to propel the research efforts of the chief of neurosurgery, Dr. Robert Kerr, and Chief of Radiation Medicine, Dr. Heather Zinkin.
Handler Hope Foundation has pledged a total donation of $75,000 to the Northwell Health Lauren Handler research fund this year. The foundation made its initial installment of $25,000 in April.
