Latino Republicans Endorse Candidates
New York Republican Latinos announced their 2023 candidates for Suffolk County at a recent event in Bay Shore.
The candidates endorsed are Suffolk County Legislator Manuel Esteban (16th legislative district), Ed Romaine for Suffolk county executive, Gretta Leon for East Hampton supervisor, Manny Vilar for Suffolk County Legislature (2nd legislative district) and Dr. Pamela Velastegui for Huntington receiver of taxes.
McKay Wants Moratorium on Battery Storage Plans
Don McKay for Huntington, a Democrat running for Huntington Town Board, has proposed a moratorium on building a lithium-ion battery energy storage system. He told the Northport Observer that the town code needed to be clarified on such storage. The Huntington Zoning Board is considering a request to build a 60-megawatt lithium-ion battery energy storage system in East Northport.
Bontempi Wins Endorsement
Republican Stephanie Bontempi, 18th District legislator, was endorsed by the Suffolk County Law Enforcement Coalition.
