Chip City Bringing Its Cookie Lineup to East Northport

A  cookies shop promising lots of gooey flavor and color is headed to East Northport.

Peter Phillips, CEO  and founder of Chip City, which has 18 other locations around the region, expects to open in late July at 1943 East Jericho Turnpike.

Chip City offers large, 5.5-ounce cookies, rotating a lineup each week from among about 50 flavors, which include oatmeal, Nutella salt sea salt, macadamia nut, blueberry cheesecake and many more. There’s also always a dairy-free cookie on the menu, Phillips said.

Phillips, who said he was a “real estate guy”  and childhood friend Teddy Gailas, “a food guy,”  launched the shop concept in Astoria, Queens in 2017 after raising $70,000 to get started, and have since expanded to New Jersey and Connecticut, with plans for more.

He said that while the Covid-19 epidemic slowdown had an effect on the new business in Queens, the shop got through the early days because people began turning to Chip City in search of comfort food, and, Phillips said, because they were staying local instead of traveling out of the area.

The company plans to add a shop in Huntington, as well, but details weren’t available.
